Megan
Megan's Story
I was in active addiction off and on from age 20 until age 33. I started drinking as a young adult and then to cope with an abusive marriage. I struggled silently for so long until finally seeking help and struggle to the struggle in the summer of 2020. A traumatic divorce exacerbated my chances for recovery but I finally was able to gain control of sobriety on June 23, 2021 and I haven’t picked up a drink since then. I love sharing my journey with others in hopes that they will be encouraged and comforted to know that they are not alone. I also started a nonprofit meant to help addicts coming out of prison. I currently work as a social worker and I’m a grad student of criminal justice. I am beyond blessed to be sober and I love sharing my story with others.
