My dad was an alcoholic so alcohol has been around me ever since I was young. Then, when he and mum got divorced, I was an only child growing up in a working-class one parent family and there were a lot of times that I felt lonely and isolated. We didn’t have any money and I struggled to fit in and make friends. I thought alcohol was an outlet to be liked and to have people around me all the time, even if it was for all the wrong reasons.
