I started drinking as a teenager to fit in and feel accepted. I never quite felt like I fit in, still really don’t. I was the classic party boy. When I wanted to stop and it was time to grow up…I couldn’t. Then it got really scary. In and out of the hospital, 7 time treatment loser, jail…

My heightened sense of fight or flight and deep fear within, left me alone in those times. I’ve been to 7 residential treatment centers, walked out of two. The thing that saved my life was sponsorship and sober living. My sponsor at the time dropped me off at sober living in 2019 and said “this will be the thing that changes your life, if you make it be.” It was. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

AA it works if you work it. No one can help the addict like another addict. I am a firm believer in the 3 prongs Physical/Emotional/Spiritual. I’ve embraced intentional living and believe in my purpose.

Other alcoholics saved my life. All it cost me was a buck and some really uncomfortable conversations in the beginning. Don’t give up. @sethpetersreal @sethpetersofficial
